achievements

i saw in a few forums that some ppl can gain achievements...
like little medals or ribbons... that are in your profile

im thinking to implement something like this too...
though i still dont know how... though i have an idea....


but anyway...
what kinds of achievement should we make...?
my ideas so far:
- a mod achievement
- for bringing many members onto here
- posting over x amount of posts without being a staff member lol
- good quality of posts/for getting much rep
- maybe something negative too?

anything else?

and maybe one for people who have rp characters
top posters (probably not including mods and admin)
and maybe a special one for people who aid in the development of the site

Here's the thing about achievements: They are fun and not too hard to implement but must be updated manually.

I also know how to do it, just like this:

User & groups>profiles>add new field

Then:

Type: Text Zone
Name: Achievements
Description: Anything
Url icon: Nothing.
Obligatory: No
Preview: Messages and profile.
Display type: Text
Who can modify: Mods
Display for: Memebers
Separator: Back to the line

Thats it...now to add achievements to a user just go to their profile and then edit the field, put in the image you want to add with [img][/img] tags...

wouldnt the display typ would be set to image? x.x

Thats a good question..its the same thing if you set it to icon or text, just tested it.

You seem to always do a great job finding pics for things like this xD

Achievements:

Moderator
Admin
Achievements for every post rank.
Negative achievement for every warning level
An achievement for 30 reputation
Achievement for 80 Reputation

The possibilities are endless.

that is why I am always a mod and never an admin, but personnally I like rupes

okey... i know how to put on ONE achievement... but how to put on multiple achievements??
do i have to make for every achievement a new profile field?

No...lol

You put the achievement image in the field right? To put another one all you do is put another one all you do is put in another image. It should have room...you choose text zone right? I mean you have a huge area to put in the images right?

but i dont want to have everyone the same images... after all i have to choose them individually for every member...

and what field?

They wont have the same images if you go to their profile on the forum and change the achievements part...I don't mean the admin panel, do it directly from their profile. However over it and a green/orange icon will appear, click on it and you can edit.

You sure about that? o.O Can you screenshot the achievements page with the information on it in the admin panel?

well... you know...
in the edit page of the first post in a thread...

you have check boxes for choosing if you want your sig in the post... or if you want enable html, etc...

and there are under them... the round thingies... where you can choose if its only a normal post... or a sticky or announcement...

well... the choices there ... look the same as the sticky choices... as well as when you click on one of them... the other round thingy is empty again... without the little dot

and i cant even disable them again x.x
