ok how about a knights third be
lancer and spearmen are different since lancers are on horsebackI would leave it as just spearman
spearman->pikeman
paladin->holy defender

I would push necromancer to 3 and go
dark alcolyte->necromancer->liche

hunter->ranger->forest protector
crossbowman->sharp shooter->sniper
mercenary->assassin->Royal assassin

ninja use naruto
ninja->jounin->kage

martialartist->sensei

dragon rider->dragon knight->dragon master

Meh, the fist fighters, lol. Street fighter->brawler/monk->Boxer?/Martial artist->Pro-Boxer/Sensei.

How about Knight->Paladin->Holy Defender. Spearman->Pikeman->Lancer. Ya know, since you could learn to ride a horse, lol.

hunter->ranger->Forest Protector. How about we change forest protector to Guerrilla Fighter, since hunters and rangers kill things in the forest.

I figured rangers were defenders of the forest

kind of were we get the modern day term of a forest ranger

that is why I suggested forrest defender but these are just suggestions to help kiri so she gets final say

I always thought they hunted in the forest, using their knowledge of it to survive and track things to kill...Not really protect it =o I think of Aragorn, living in the wild and stuff

for the 4th rank...
i thought of some more abilities... something with more responsibilities...
like commanders... some kind of leaders... they could establish guilds or something like that...
so those need some great names...

for hunters... i wouldnt say they only hunt some animals... and also not only in forest... you could say they have great skills like tracking things down... but not nessecarly bound to the forest
so forest defenders would give some kind of wrong image

liche.... isnt a liche some undead skeletton??? also it doesnt sound that powerful... i think... maybe something with "dark" in the name... or devils servant or something...

spearman ... what about he could splitt again into pikeman or lancer...
cause maybe not everyone likes to ride a horse in the end....
but still the 4th rank is missing...

i totally agree with ninja...

about knight... i wouldnt say "holy" "defender" ... maybe some like to be rather a darkness knight... some might not be called defenders... as they rather like to be the one that attacks...
also knight is not nessecarly the the 2nd rank ... i just put it there as to show in which direction it might go

about fist fighters... i really have no clue about them... how to set them up...
shoalin monks? are actually martial artists.. no.. hmm... x.x im lost

Liches are undead that still have souls and their abilities in magic are insane =D

I actually meant to switch monk and martial artist. Monks give a vow and focus their lives to peace, learning, etc. Martial artists just fight using martial arts o.o

i know that about liches... but i doubt anyone wants to be undead.. unless.. they want to be undead... lol..
meeh.. liche wont be the top rank for dark mages.. =/

yeah that might ork mimi...

but still... how to call the ranks...?
monk splitt will be able to use kinds of magic too... holy magic i guess... though mainly focus on fighting or the good..
im not knowledged in this subject... about the ranks inside of monks... like apprentices, superiors, etc... there sure are ranks like this

about the martial artists direction...
i dont know if using directly a name like "kung fu fighter" would be good... as someone might like to use karate... or judo... or whatever..
and yes... sensei might be a good 4th rank... though this might sound a bit low.. =/

I see your point kiri just trying to give some ideas

and the commander and guild ideas are very good, that would make people want to be in them

and with liche I figured those who would want to be controlling undead would want to embrace the eternal life of the undead and weild there powerful magic as thus

i know... and im just giving my personal on opinions on those ideas... ^^

well... undead as in vampire like... might me attrackive... but liche is rather a running skeleton with magical powers... so i wouldnt like to be a liche x.x
also... a mage of darkness does not nessesarly have to do something with undead...
at least thats my opinion..
i though of darkness mages being rather destructive or mind manipulating... maybe a few choose the path of summoning the undead.... ( a new splitt????)

ive updated the list a bit

what??

anyway...
also i was thinking about dragon riders... the 2nd rank... where the the split to dragon rider ir... i dont think they already should be able to actually really fly around on a dragon...
maybe rather like kinda grab some leg and get taken along with for a certain range... as the dragon is still too weak to get flied with
he can control the dragon somewhat to his will... and use a few magic artes

*changed tabl again*
dragon controller only commands a dragon...
dragon rider can fly on them... of corse controllin it to..
dragon master can control many dragons at once
????

Swordfighter-Page-Knight-Duke/Duchess?

Spearman-Pikeman-Royal Guard?

(Found stuff for Monks)

Fistfighter->Navaka*Lowly Monk*->Thera*Average level Monk*->Luang Phi*Venerable Elder, monk leader*

Monks use certain martial arts mixed with monk weapons, staffs, monk spade http://www.martialartsmart.net/45-84cs.html, etc. =D

I forgot Martial Artists, found stuff for it too, lol. We could use the American Marine Corps level system =D

Fistfighter->TanBelt->GreenBelt->Blackbelt

nice work truce ^^
i like it ^^
though "royal" guard implies that someone is serving under some king...
maybe not everyone would like to do that..

im going to implement that stuff asap

of course if anyone would come up with an even better idea... thinks are still open for suggestions ^^

btw vipy... whats an alcolyte??
i searched fo it... and such a word doesnt exist... but acolyte....
but an acolyte is some one who serve in a church... ö_Ö that somewhat doesnt fit the dark attribute ... no?

lol youre right...

but as i looked it up...
always "catholic" stood in brackets behind it... so yeah...

anyway... about dark mages...
like i said... they do not nessecarly have to work with undead...
like i said.. destruction and manipulation is one way...

maybe we could even add a new split to them...
one for those that control and summon the undead...
and one for those as i described...
