spells and skills
every class will be able to use magic in some ways...
some use spells
some use skills ( i dont mean skills like strength, intel, speed, etc), skills are like special moves...
some use both
elements is another questions...
of course not every skill/spell will have an element...
but.... actually... everyone will be able to use every element they want
but they need to be reasonable...
also... there are the 4 basic elements: fire, water, earth and wind
advanced elements like: poison, lightning, ice, etc
special elements: light and darkness
i think we better call them attributes... ö-Ö or not?
depending on what class... you will need to choose one (basic) attribute, then through out the game... get a secondary one... (< advanced? >)and eventually a 3rd one
of course need to be reasonable... you cant choose opposing elements
mages are another part...
apprentices will be able to use 1 basic
then depending on what way they choose...
dark mages >> 2nd rank: dark attribute > 3rd rank: second basic(or advanced... dont know yet) > 4th rank: advanced attribute
but they need to be reasonable with them... example: fire, earth and poison along with dark would fit good together
elemental mages >> 2nd rank: add 2 basics > 3rd: add 1 basic and 1 advanced > 4th: all, except dark or light
healers >> same as dark mages except they get the light attribute at 2nd rank
they also would need to be reasonable... example: water, wind, and lightning along with light would fit together
if some one wants to have a mixed char, they will have to sacrifice some attributes
dragon riders will have to choose the attribute of their dragon... and choose their own attribute that fits to the dragons attribute
the dragons attribute can be though any attribute... basic or advanced (dont know if special attributes will be used here)

though of course with the growth of your char... the lower level spells will grow too
example: level 1 fireball is pretty small at the beginning... and grows in size and speed, or can fly curves or even stop in its flight aka controllable, and the char can decide how the ball behaves and the char will need less time to prepare/cast the spell too, or if we make it like this... wont need to speak the chant (>> like kidou in bleach)

there is a difference between spells and skills
spells need some time to get casted...
you might need a chant
at higher levels of course this time gets decreased
while skills are rather based on weapons or the body itself
ex: charging a weapon with somekind of energy swinging it and that way shooting some energy ball at the enemy
of course here as well..
at a higher level the time to charge gets decreased as well
there is a difference between spells and skills

ok should we seperate spells and skills or should we combine them
I mean lets say player x has 9 things they could do and he is a spellcaster, should we say he gets 9 spells and or skills
or do we divide so many can be skills and so many spells
I ask because in order to balance out the classes we will need to figure out if we should give one class more skills

well...
i say there will be a set number or amount of spells and skills in total... (combined)
then...
either let everyone decide themselves the amount of each of them...
or... set also a fixed number for spells and skills for each class (evtl rank)

Let's do five for the starting classes =o A spell caster and mix and match skills/spells. They should keep in mind though, if they have 4 skills they can only have one spell =D

i thought about about getting char levels...
and maybe with every level they would gain 1 new slot for skills/spells

That sounds good =o Maybe at later levels a spellcaster and forget one or two of their spells to gain a stronger one if they want

Simple o.o
Start with a basic fire spell o.o Which is "Fire" o.o
When you level it up to its second stage (Leveling up can happen any way the RP mods decide) It evolves to a stronger version, fira o.o
When you evel that up to it's final stage, call it "Firaga" o.e...

It's not too complicated o.o it's too simple. I think we should make the spells of different levels and have a spells per day system.
